Midnight musings

As I walk back to my car at 3:30 in the morning after an emergency
surgery, bringing to a close my 12th day in a row of work and in
preparation for another 30 hour shift tomorrow, I marvel at the career
path I have chosen for myself and hope that at the end of it all it
will have been worth it.

p.p.p.p.s. For several years the background music that my brain has settled on is the theme from the kids in the hall, which is strange since I haven't actually heard it in years. The other day I was in clinic and my boss said "are you humming the theme to the kids in the hall?" It blew my mind. Of course, she is Canadienne, so...

We went to a local air show and unfortunately only saw planes on the ground. We left because of extreme heat and severe lack of 2-year-old interest. But it was fun anyway. Next year I'm bringing a chair!
